Happy Birthday to ME!

Well another year has come and gone. I'm another year older, (and wiser hopefully). I stayed pretty busy working the day before, of, and two days after my birthday. But the kids and Todd managed to celebrate with me between work and catching some shut eye. Todd made us all a delicious ginger and terrikayi noodle Chinese dish with shrimp and he picked up some of our favorite Sushi and Inari at the local Fresh Market. The meal was great, and we finished it with a to die for chocolate cake.

The kids got me a beautiful bouquet of pink roses, which according to Todd was debated over for quite some time. The debate starting with pink and ending with pink apparently! Todd said when he asked the kids what they wanted to get me for my birthday they suggested "A diamond", Todd told them they may have to scale it back a bit, to which they replied, "OK, how about a diamond ring!" Gotta love their spirit. They then suggested a dress, which apparently they all agreed was more do-able. Cole and Gavin made me a certificate which entitles me to one dress, so we are all going shopping at some point to buy me a dress.

Despite having to work I threw caution to the wind and enjoyed a glass of wine for my 33rd. It was good and much like myself aged to perfection!

A little help celebrating from Cole and Gavin

End of the Season

Cole finished up his 2008 T-ball season in fine form. July 24th was his last game. Aunt Amy and Aunt Amber were in attendance to help us cheer him on. He's such a ham! He gave the game his all and in the last inning slid into every base. (I guess he realized it was his last chance for a while!) After the game his coaches presented them with trophies, which was something completely unexpected. Coach Steve and Coach Greg paid for these out of their own pockets and we are truly grateful. Cole had a smile from ear to ear and held his trophy tightly the rest of the night! We ended the festivities by taking him out for ice cream. His skills have improved so much this summer and he pretty much thinks about baseball 24/7. Last night Todd and I were waken from our slumber at 2:30 am to the sounds of Sports Center. Cole had once again gotten up in the middle of the night to turn on Sports Center to watch highlights from the game! The cuteness factor of this has begun to wear off and we are now wondering how to deal with this! Below are some pics from his final game! Enjoy!

A line drive up the middle!

Sliding into 3rd, this was actually quite funny because when he slid that was as far as he went, so the base coach slid the base over to meet him!

Leading off... Cole loves to lead off almost as much as he loves to slide
